How Saplings began
The Saplings Education story began with the idea to turn a passion for teaching children with additional learning needs into a nurturing, inclusive and pivotal educational establishment.
Having always loved working with young children in schools and holiday clubs I studied a degree in Early Childhood Studies and then a Post Graduate Certificate in Education to become a primary school teacher.
As a teacher I relished teaching and nurturing children in primary schools across England and Wales. It was over the years as a primary school teacher that I became particularly interested in supporting those pupils with additional learning needs. This interest quickly became a passion and I strived to provide the best education for these pupils, often offering extra support wherever possible.
In 2016 I made the bold decision to leave mainstream education to pursue my passion to help learners with additional learning needs and embark on my mission to support every learner I meet to reach their full potential and enjoy learning, overcoming barriers to learning.
Since creating Saplings Education I have delivered bespoke education to; pupils educated at home, supported pupils in their school environment, provided speech and language therapy to learners at home or in school, delivered extra academia tuition at home or schools, provided training and support to school staff working with vulnerable learners, completed assessments and provided reports for parents / carers / schools / tribunal purposes.
I also provide support and guidance for parents / carers with regards to development, educational placements, troubleshooting and strategies to use at home.
Over ten years of teaching experience and seven years of educating learners with additional learning needs.
To ensure I further my own knowledge and expertise I enjoy partaking in professional courses, working with various multi-disciplinary professionals and working in a variety of educational settings.
